Temp Note — This route has yet to be tested on a Cygnus Knight, so there's a decent chance it might get a little messy at some point if playing one. I'm also sure I've managed to miss a couple errors throughout due to the constant revisions I've been making during the process. With these two things in mind, please share any feedback if you run into any problems with the route so that I can try to fix it for everyone else! Thank you for reading!

This is a step-by-step guide on the fastest and easiest way (give or take) to reach 1,000 quests on a fresh character. Due to the length of this guide, this forum post will only include the Intro section of the guide. You can find the full guide in various formats at the links attached here.

Google Docs, pageless

PDF (Google Drive link), for quick access

DOCX (Google Drive link), can be downloaded in multiple formats

Current Version: 1.3

1.3 — March 12, 2025
  • Lots of minor edits
The most notable change is an update to advice on Fierry's Tentacle farming, which has been made a lot easier since the recent YunaMS update.

1.2 — March 4, 2025
  • Added a lot more images and screenshots
  • Switched the Google Docs version to pageless format for more seamless usage
  • Deleted the unnecessary auto-generated title pages for each section on PDF and DOCX formats
  • Lots of minor edits
As it turns out, setting text color for 250+ pages of info is really annoying. Who knew. I'll be pushing color-coding lower on the priority list of potential adjustments since I feel like the guide is easy enough to read as is. On that note, this will probably be the last time I update this guide for the foreseeable future unless anyone reports any glaring issues.

1.1 — February 28, 2025
  • Added a reminder for Maple Island in Part 9
  • Added more tips and reminders for Job Advancements throughout
  • Added Dalair Job Adv medal quests throughout, plus other Dalair challenges in Part 9 (oops, totally forgot about this dude)
  • Fixed some incorrect and misleading instructions, and added some new ones
  • Lots of minor edits
1.0 — February 27, 2025

Intro (READ ME) (PLEASE)

!!!IMPORTANT!!! GUIDE INSTRUCTIONS:

To save myself a bunch of typing over the course of hundreds of quests, I will use a lot of shorthand and notation. Here are the most important things to know.

A “@” sign means simply to ACCEPT the listed quest. You don’t have to do ANYTHING ELSE, just follow the next step in the route. For example, if you accept a quest where you need to kill 20 Slimes, DON’T immediately run off to kill the slimes. Just continue with the route as closely as possible; it will tell you when to kill those slimes.

Note that sometimes when doing quests in sequence, you will automatically be prompted to Accept a quest and may not be shown the name of the follow-up quest you’re accepting. To double-check, you can talk to the NPC again to see which quests you have in progress.

A “$” sign means to SUBMIT/turn in the listed quest.

If a quest shows “@$” with both signs together, this means you should be able to accept the quest and then immediately submit it after.

A “>” sign is a general indication of direction, usually meaning “travel to”.

Here is an example using a made-up quest, with the text in parentheses ( ) being a “translation”.

> Lith Harbor
(Travel to Lith Harbor)

What is this guide?

This guide is a step-by-step route for completing ~1,000 quests about as quickly and easily as possible on YunaMS.

Note that it is tailored to be accessible to any player, including someone brand-new to the server, and so it progresses from the perspective of a character starting from scratch. As such, it may not be the optimal route for a character that is already leveled, but should still be plenty good enough to use as opposed to just blindly doing quests.

This route DOES NOT include every available quest, only the ones most worth the time and effort in the interest of reaching 1,000 quests (subjectively by me), and so it excludes the worst of the worst quests.

This route also DOES NOT account for job-specific quests as it simply isn’t feasible for me to do so for all available job paths. I will provide some general reminders for when to do things like Job Advancements, but otherwise it is up to you to take care of these quests as you go. This is primarily in reference to Cygnus Knight quests (categorized as “Cygnus Knights” in the quest menu), Aran quests (categorized as “Hero With The Lost Memory”), other skill-unlocking quests, and mount quests. Quests related to the Maker skill are covered by this route.

Why should I do 1,000 quests?

Whenever you complete a quest, the game adds up a “quest count” total for your character. On YunaMS, whenever you reach a quest count milestone (in increments of 200), you can redeem a special Ring equipment item. These unlock at 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1,000 quest count, and as long as you unlock these on one character on your account, you can transfer these rings to all of your other characters using your account-wide storage. Quest milestones can be accessed from Jarvis.

The most noteworthy of these rings are the last two: Legendary Quester Ring, which unlocks at 800 quest count, and Apex Quester Ring, which unlocks at 1,000. With four ring slots, these are two of the best available rings, even into the endgame. You can read more about this in the Comprehensive Gear Progression Guide by Clear.

But without being familiar with all of the quests, you can end up wasting a lot of time by:

  • constantly traveling back and forth between cities
  • searching for info on guides and wikis
  • farming for a tedious quest only to find out that it doesn’t even contribute to your quest count
  • farming for and completing a quest, then later finding another quest that wants you to farm the same monster… and then finding yet another quest asking the same, and then another…
  • …and countless other ways
Which is why I ended up making this guide, and hopefully it will help you avoid the above as much as possible.

Other Advice and Resources

Wikis and Databases

If you find that you need more specific instructions or prerequisite info for a quest, or maybe you got lost and just can’t seem to find your way to a certain map, or anything of the sort, I highly recommend using the online database bbb.hidden-street.net. Unique to Hidden Street, looking up a map will provide a diagram of all connecting portals from that map, including those that are hidden.

For whatever reason, BBB’s (Before Big Bang) Cloudflare seems to be particularly aggressive and can make it annoying to use for long sessions. If this bothers you, you can opt to use bc.hidden-street.net (Before Chaos) instead, but keep in mind that certain data will fairly often be inaccurate between that on YunaMS and that on BC, since YunaMS is built from a pre-Big Bang game version.

When looking for YunaMS-specific data like drop tables, item data, and required quest levels, you should instead use YunaDB.

Farming Monsters and Items

The route will frequently provide directions to certain maps and farming locations before instructing to farm a certain mob/item. Most of the time, these are simply suggestions. If you’re already familiar with good farming spots and they don’t align with my directions, feel free to deviate (and also feel free to provide feedback if you think it would improve the route!). However, if you’re new or just don’t feel like searching, I recommend just following the route.

If you’re new to the server, anytime that the route instructs you to farm a mob, it would be a good idea to also complete its Monster Card set while you’re at it. However, before you do so, I highly recommend you first search the whole guide (using the Ctrl+F command) to see if the monster in question will be farmed later. For example: if you are passing through El Nath and want to farm cards for Leatty, but you see that you will have to kill 100 Leatty later in the route, it would be better to wait until then and save your time. You can read more about the benefits of Monster Cards on the YunaMS Features List here.

Certain resource items like ore and scrolls are stored in Jarvis when picked up by default, instead of your regular inventory. Various quests will require such items to be withdrawn from Jarvis storage. This storage will also be useful for making space in your inventory; for instance, if a completed quest rewards you with a scroll, this gets sent directly to your inventory, so you would have to store it in Jarvis manually.

Final Notes

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on improving the route. Feedback is always welcome!

Thank you to yuna for invaluable support and resources during the info-gathering process. Would have taken me another eternity without the help.

Thank you to PoptartKing for sharing their own compilation of quest info as valuable reference material.

Thank you to pokable and mujy for their prior work on their All Boosted Questlines and 240 Quests on the Road to 1000 guides respectively, which are redirected to at certain points in the route.

Thank you to Akiyo, TheWholeSky, and Tenderizer for help with initial testing and cleaning up route inconsistencies.

To-Do List:

  • Confirm the inventory checks attached at the end of each section
  • Maybe add VIP Rock map recommendations?
  • Color-coding to match the Boosted Questlines and 240 Quests guides, for improved readability
  • Any other improvements/polish for readability and user-friendliness

I might miss something along the way but I think there's missing quests after farming the cursed dolls in Part 3. Before accepting and finishing the quests from Rowen the Fairy, you'll need to find Ronnie to finish Hungry Ronnie, then proceed to Sleepywood sauna to finish up Returned Secret Book quest. Without doing these, Rowen won't have any quests for you.
[Edit] Found out that you included the quests for Ronnie further down but it should be moved up before Rowen.

Thanks for catching this! Looks like I moved it to the wrong place when updating from 1.1 to 1.2. I'll have it fixed up tomorrow.

You should accept this quest for the cells to drop. Just move this to before collecting the cells
Aaa thank you again! I'll hotfix the Accept step into the current version. Was also missing the Submit step for "Eliminating Chief Gray".
