Glad to salute, Yuna, friends and I have been working on this server for about a month, reaching lvl160+ and noticing the serious lack of damage NW’s pass through the bossing time (w/SE +CC|MW). ~Maybe the reason why everyone is NL.

Let focus on DPS topic:

In theory, NWs should have higher DPS than Night Lords because of Vanish 130% dmg boost, but it’s the other way around in practice: Shadow Shifter (NL) > Enveloping Darkness (NW) and the slow down while Dark Sight (DS) is ON for Vanish macro.

Shadow shifter is an awesome skill for Adventures Thieves giving 30-40% success rate that allows to hold position and give the highest probability of survival while SED. On the other hand, Enveloping Darkness for NW add extra 40 att +150 avoidability for 180 sec - 5 min CD. It’s kinda useful in terms of grinding and low hp bosses, but loses voice on the matters (high lvl bossing) because we all use high att pot or Mega Buff, then the amount of avoid is not enough to keep, not even 30 seconds, standing, which means doing less damage for the time it takes to reposition.

Vanish Macro:

The main problem, in my opinion, is how DS is configured for NWs: the next atk skill after DS loses att booster effect, also, after keep pressing the macro key for about 3 times, they got stuck (can't keep macro-ing) and must re do it (atk skill to take off DS -> re macro). So this is why they’re so slow comparing w/o using Vanish macro.
~Wind Archers shows a better demonstration on how the macro has to be. With Wind Walk maxed, which has the same proposition than Vanish, they got a noticeable DPS increase bc they don’t lose booster while doing it and isn't even necessary to have a living mob to do it.

Not just worst at stable damage for the reasons showed earlier, but on att skills as well.

+Can’t really tell how Soul Piercer would overpower their dmg in late game (‘cause the skill build that ranks it one of the last)

Recommendations:

  • A rework of DS into a similar mechanic like Wind Walk
  • Same dmg % as NL’s skills but keeping the Enveloping Darkness as how it is

This is not a pro thief review and haven’t seen everything on the server yet, but I’ve experienced a 160 NW doing less dmg than a 135 Bowmaster with gears alike, which is not the motivation for someone to keep funding whoever favorite character is.
